Merrifield Entrance Sculpture 2019


Merrifield sculpture is a long flowing wall influenced by the vocabulary of the landscape, both current and past by artist David Wood.

Location: Polaris Road, Mickleham

Materials: Mild Steel, galvanized and 22 different colours within the palettes of yellow and orange with splashes of blue and red industrial coatings.

A ‘painterly piece.’

A long flowing wall, influenced by the vocabulary of the landscape, both current and past.

The entrance to Australia’s largest business park, a narrative shows vinaigrettes of working life appearing along the meandering shapes, sweeping arcs and curves.

Expressed in a palette of oranges, reds, blues and yellows, it is also a serpentine reference to dreamtime stories and ancient lava flows.
