Location: Acland Street, St Kilda
Materials: Aluminium and fibreglass.
Laconic and playful.
A lone 1960s inspired toy rocket ship from my childhood crashing into Acland Street.
Its passengers bewildered and stunned – are they looking for Luna Park?
The piece pays homage to the spirit of St Kilda, being a celebration of its history as a playground – a place of fun and adventure.
Since being constructed it has become an iconic feature in this popular precinct.
