Kew Cemetery

Wrought Iron Gate

Eastern Property Services requested a traditional hand-forged gate that replicates existing original 19th century designs of gates surrounding the heritage-listed Kew Cemetery established in 1859.

Created in the ancient ways of blacksmithing, it features punched through metal that incorporates the cast crosses used across the other cemetery gates.

The Cemetery embodies the elegance of a Victorian garden cemetery, renowned as a stunning open air gallery of art and architecture. The majestic mausoleums, memorials and timeless tombstones, adorned with intricate sculptures and crosses, create a solemn and august atmosphere.

David feels privileged to being a part of its history having hand-crafted three gates over ten years in the ancient craft of blacksmithing.

Forged and cast iron, with industrial black coatings.
