Location: Elsternwick Park, Elsternwick

Materials: Galvanised iron

Reeds are a metaphor for protection, refuge and purification of the spirit and soul.

This circular pavilion sitting on top of a hill creates its own space, a room. Within this room is an oasis for rest and contemplation.

Its colour mimics and reflects the hues of eucalypts trunks that surround it.

Its form a direct reference to the integral role that reeds play in swamplands and in this park’s wildlife habitat.
